Edward F. Butler, of 44 Hunter street, Woodbury, for fifteen years private secretary to the late William J. Thompson, died at his home yesterday from tuberculosis. He is survived by a widow and a 17-year-old daughter.

Deceased was a member of Camden Lodge, No. 293, B. P. O. E.; Camden Lodge, No. 111, L. O. O. M.; Odd Fellows, Red Men and Camden Gun Club. He was one of the best shots in this section of the country. Up until last night his father, Frank Butler, for years a champion shot, had not been located, but it is expected to get the sad news to him to-day.

The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock, from his late residence. Interment will be private. The remains may be viewed Wednesday evening.

Edward Francis Butler was the oldest child of Frank E. Butler and his first wife, Henrietta Saunders. Frank later married famous sharpshooter Annie Oakley.

Edward first married Frances Elizabeth "Fannie" Cavis, daughter of Carson and Elizabeth Cavis, on November 26, 1890 in Camden, New Jersey. He later married Fannie Osler on March 30, 1894 in Camden.
