Sophia Moehlenkamp, aged sixty-eight years, a resident of Seymour, Indiana, for about twenty years and a life-long resident of Jackson County, Indiana, died at her house, 716 West Brown Street on Thursday night at 9:30 p.m. after a brief illness. Her death was due to a heart disease and came suddenly although she has been under the care of a physician for the past several days.

She was born November 5, 1854, in this county near the Sauers church and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Duwe. Her husband, the late John Moehlenkamp, died only three weeks ago. She has been ailing since that time. Her condition became worse a few days ago.

Mrs. Moehlenkamp was married on February 20, 1879. Six children, Mrs. Fred Herkamp, Mrs. Harry Emhuff, Mrs. Fred Stabb, Edward, Albert, and Walter Moehlenkamp, all of Seymour, Indiana, all survive her. She also leaves one brother, Fred Duwe, of near Sauers church and twelve grandchildren. Two other children; Georg "Wilhelm" and Maria Elizabeth Moehlenkamp predeceased her.

Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, and at 2:30 p.m. at the Lutheran church. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Ernest Eggers. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery.

NOTE: Sophia Luisa Adelheid Duwe was christened on December 17, 1854, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sauers, Jackson County, Indiana. Her christening sponsors were Luisa Moenning and Adelheid Bischoff. She married Johann Christian Moehlenkamp on February 20, 1879. Her parents were William Duwe and Anna Marie Elisabeth Biermann.
