GRAY, Shirley age 71, of Kettering, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013. She was born February 5, 1942 to James and Evelyn Caldwell of Monroeville, PA.

Shirley, a breast cancer survivor, was a secretary for Pennsylvania State Representative, Roger Madigan, and worked for the Republican Research Office. She retired in 2002 from that position and then moved to the Dayton area. She was an associate member of the United Methodist Church in Turtle Creek, PA and a member of Community United Methodist Church in Riverside, OH.

She is survived by her sister, E. Lee (Stephen) Henderson; husband of 30 years, Ron Gray; two children, James (Shirley) Miller and Kevin (Karen) Miller; 4 grandchildren, Evelyn, Nicholas, Emma, and Matthew.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, James Caldwell.

The family wishes to thank the staffs of Miami Valley Hospital, LifeCare, Kindred, and Trinity Nursing Home for their care of Shirley for the past half year.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00pm on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, with funeral services following at 6:00pm.
