Mr. Favale was born April 17, 1932, in Waterbury, son of the late Joseph A. and Josephine (Cilfone) Favale Sr. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School, and was a proud U.S. Marine having served in the Korean War. He worked for CL&P for more than 30 years. He had an appreciation of wildlife, nature and all of its beauty.
Joe is survived by his sons, Harold "Skip" Welton and his wife, Maureen, of Biddeford, Maine, Gary Welton and his wife, Connie, of Middlebury, Dennis Welton and his wife, Gayle, of Saco, Maine, and Joseph Favale of Waterbury; and his daughters, Elaine Sigel and her husband, John, of Cheshire, and Darlene Wojtusik and her husband, Ray, of Bristol. He was a proud papa to 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He also leaves his two brothers, Peter Favale and his wife, Edna, of Wolcott, and John Favale of Punta Gorda, Fla., as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury, to SS. Peter & Paul Church for a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m.
