Mrs. Rosemary T. (Favale) Solury, age 66, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at her home. She was the loving wife of John J. "Jack" Solury, Sr.

Mrs. Solury was born September 18, 1947 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Joseph A. and Josephine (Cilfone) Favale, Sr.

She was a graduate of Croft High School. She worked at Simsbury Bank and Trust and ING for several years before retiring from the retirement division of The Hartford Insurance Group, where she worked for over fifteen years.

Rosemary was a communicant of S.S. Peter and Paul Church until she and her husband, John, moved to Simsbury more than thirty years ago. They have been longtime communicants of St. Mary's Church in Simsbury.

Rosemary was completely devoted to her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially to Disney World and Cape Cod. Rosemary recently cruised the islands with her family.

She's known for her immaculate personality, shopping on QVC, and was a collector of Department 56 Dicken's Village. Rosemary was a proud member of the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary for many years.

In addition to Jack, her husband of forty-eight years, Rosemary leaves behind her son, John J. Solury, Jr. and his wife, Bethany, of Southington; her daughter, Gina Egan, and her husband, John, of Nashua, New Hampshire; and her grandchildren, Alexis Spargo, Nicholas Spargo, and Ethan Solury. She is also survived by her brothers, Joseph A. Favale, Jr. of Waterbury, Peter Favale and his wife, Edna, of Wolcott, and John Favale of Punta Gorda, Florida; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her sisters-in-law, Rolly Favale and Jeannette Favale.

Rosemary's family would like to thank their family and friends for all of their love and support, the staff of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts, and the Farmington Valley VNA for their compassionate care shown to Rosemary.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow Street, Waterbury, to S.S. Peter and Paul Church for a Mass at 10:30 a.m.
