Mrs. Myron Puterba
Mrs. Myron Puterba passed away at her home in Wolf Creek, Wednesday night, March 20th, after a brief illness.
Sue Etta Booth was born April 24, 1875 in Sterling township east of Wolf Creek. She was the youngest daughter of the late George and Mary Maynard Booth and one of a family of nine children. When a young woman she went to Montana, where she lived for some twenty years, engaged chiefly in the hotel business in Garret, Butte and Missoula. It was while she was living in Montana that she married the late Al Crawford in 1905 at Salt Lake City, Utah. Shortly before Mr. Crawford passed away, Nov 11, 1910 they moved to St. Croix Falls, where Mr. Crawford was employed by the Northern States Power Co., and where she operated the Vincent House. After Mr. Crawford's death Mrs. Crawford moved to Minneapolis where November 9, 1917 she married Myron D. Puterba. They moved to Wolf Creek fourteen years ago and have since spent their winters there. In the summers they managed the Tettegouche Club near Finland, Minn,. a private summer resort in the north woods country. Mrs. Puterba entered the hospital in Duluth in February where she underwent surgery February
14. It was just ten days before her death, March 20th, that she returned with her husband from Duluth to Wolf Creek.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one sister, Mrs Mary Rogers of Wolf Creek; one brother L. Booth of St Croix Falls and a great number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were conducted at 2p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the Wolf Creek Methodist Church, by Dr. Blain Lambert, with Mrs. Lambert assisting. Interment was in the Wolf Creek Cemetery. Edling Bros. were in charge of arrangements.
The multitude of sympathetic messages and the floral offerings gave witness to the high esteem in which Sue Etta Puterba was held by those who knew her. Pallbearers were Raleigh Rogers, Russell Blair, and Earl Christensen of Wolf Creek, Thomas Rogers of Minneapolis, Joe Blair of St. Paul; Charles Hochstettler of Luck.
