Adam J. "Pee-Wee" Hardaway, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, in a local hospital. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from U.S. Pipe & Foundry after many years of service. He was a faithful member of Antioch Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hulet Hardaway and Martha Wright; and first wife, Ella Mae Hardaway. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Hilda R. Harris-Hardaway; sons, Gregory Hardaway (Sandra Sims), Joseph (Linda) Hardaway, Sr., and Ricky (Charlotte) Hardaway; daughters, Amber (Walter) Harmon, Sandra (Jerome) Gober, and Bonita (James) Terry; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; seven brothers; five sisters; one aunt; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; other relatives and friends. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service is at noon Friday at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church with Elder James Leslie officiating and Elder J. Wesley Hardaway Sr. as the eulogist. Burial: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
