NASHUA, NH — Louise (Rogers) King, 89, of Nashua, New Hampshire, died February 23, 2008, at the Green Briar Terrace in Nashua. She was the wife of the late Freeman W. King, Sr.


Born in Dalton, Georgia, the daughter of the late Amos M. and Callie (Butler) Rogers, she had resided in New Bedford, Massachusetts most of her life.


Mrs. King was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church in New Bedford and an avid crossword fan.


She was also a basketball star and played semi-pro. She and her sister Polly are in the Woman's Basketball Hall of Fame. She was a devoted mother to her loving family.


Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Sadowski of Londonderry, NH; a son, Freeman W. King, Jr. of Alpharetta, GA; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her beloved sister Polly who was married to Crawford "Pat" Mitchell who's first cousin was the famous author Margaret Mitchell who wrote the book Gone with the Wind.


Private funeral arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth.


She will be interred at the family plot in the Rural Cemetery, New Bedford, MA.
