Mary Ruth Cavey, 85, of Hampstead, died on Sunday October 5, 2014 at her home.
Born August 8, 1929 in Upperco, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Rachel (Cole) Armacost. She was the wife of the late Eugene L. Cavey who died in 2009.
She was a life member of Grace United Methodist Church, Upperco, serving in many leadership roles including UMW president, Sunday School and Bible School teacher; and flower steward. She was also a member of Grace Homemakers Club. She was co-owner of North Central Insurance Agency.
Surviving are sons, Christian Cavey and wife Cathy of Hampstead, Daniel Cavey and wife Vickie of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and David Cavey and wife Kym of Hampstead; sister, Betty A. Krebs of Upperco; grandsons, Jason Cavey and wife Megan, Nick Cavey and William Folk; granddaughters, Hannah Cavey, Kelly Cavey and Samantha Hansen; great granddaughter, Madison Cavey; great grandson, Jacob Cavey.
Visitation will also be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014, 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Grace United Methodist Church, 4618 Black Rock Road, Upperco. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Melissa Rudolph officiating. Interment will be in Grace United Methodist Cemetery.
