Mrs. Donna Jean Williamson, 80, of Rolling Prairie, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at 12:59 p.m. at La Porte Hospital.
She was born Feb. 17, 1927, in La Porte County to Herschel and Carrie (Stoner) Halter, and had lived in La Porte County all her life.
Mrs. Williamson was a licensed practical nurse at La Porte Hospital for 22 years before her retirement. She was a member of Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church. She was a 1945 graduate of Rolling Prairie High School and a 1968 graduate of Cline School of Nursing in South Bend. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening and was a five-generation matriarch.
On June 17, 1945, in Rolling Prairie, she married Duane F. Williamson, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Gail Hull of La Porte and Wendy (Michael) Blair of Rolling Prairie; three grandchildren, Michelle Rannells, Donna Hull and Mathew Blair; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and two brothers, Clifford and William Halter, both of Rolling Prairie.
Her parents and one brother, Dale Halter, preceded her in death.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Essling Funeral Home, La Porte, with Rev. David Tripp officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Rolling Prairie Cemetery
