Andrew Smitley, 73, of Fairchance, Pa., died unexpectedly on Thursday evening, April 8, 2004, in Uniontown Hospital. He was born August 8, 1930, in Outcrop, Springhill Township, Fayette County, Pa., son of Bute Smitley and Elizabeth Hiles Smitley. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Helen G. Smitley, grandson, Charles R. Myers, brother and sister-in-law, Edgar "Peak" and Emma Smitley, sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Leroy Cummings, and sister-in-law, Ethel Smitley. Surviving are his loving son, Anthony "Buck" Smitley and wife Sandra Faye Smitley of Fairchance, Pa.; loving companion, Betty Collins of Fairchance, Pa.; two granddaughters: Kimberly Clark and Robin Mehal and husband Anthony; brothers and sisters: Tom Smitley, Smithfield, Pa., Aretta Jenkins, Masontown, Pa., Claudine Lincoln and husband Sonny of Gans, Pa., and Paul Smitley and wife Judy of Point Marion, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews. The Family will receive Friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, April 13, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Lee Roy Edgell officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
