Franklin O. "Frank" Aldridge, 67, died at 4:14 PM Sunday, Nov. 12, 1989, in Lafayette Home Hospital, following a ten-year illness. Born Aug. 17, 1922, in Rainsville, he had resided in Lafayette 18 years, coming here from Newtown. His marriage on June 26, 1954, at Covington, was to Beverly Ann Brown, who survives.

Mr. Aldridge had been employed at the Purdue University physical plant for ten years, retiring in 1979. Prior to that, he was employed at the Brown Rubber Co. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving with the first military unit responsible for freeing Allied prisoners of war being held by the Japanese at Corregidor in the Philippines.
He also was a former member of the Indiana National Guard at Attica. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps prior to World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1154.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, John P. Aldridge of Crawfordsville and Junior E. Aldridge of Darlington; two daughters, Grace Ann (Mrs. William) Gleason, Jr. of Darlington and Lottie (Mrs. Danny) Smith of Frankfort; two sisters, Betty Havercamp of Lafayette and Mary Ann (Mrs. John) Keith of Fort Myers, FL; two brothers, Homer "Bud" Aldridge of Battle Ground and Gene Aldridge of Attica; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, two brothers, and one sister.
