Emma "Blanche" Avettant Gulotta, age 94, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 9th to be reunited with her beloved husband, relatives, and friends who have gone before her. She lived a wonderful life and was a blessing to all who knew her. A devoted Catholic, she practiced her faith in all that she did, and will be forever remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years Peter Gulotta. She was the mother of Peter Gulotta (wife Karen) and Gayle & Ronnie Cheek, and the grandmother of Courtney Couvillon (Michael) and Meredith Yu (Kin). She was also the proud great grandmother of Emma & Stella Couvillon and Quinn & Cade Yu. Born and raised in New Orleans, she and her husband moved to Kenner in 1990 to more fully participate in the lives of their grandchildren. The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers Nancy, Veronica, and Julia of Nancy's Private Care, for their compassionate and loving care. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, September 13th at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home and Cemeteries, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation from 12:00-1:00 followed by mass in the chapel at 1:00. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
