Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great- grandmother, Sylvia Draper Worthington, age 92, passed away peacefully and joined her beloved sweet-heart on Monday, October 7, 2002.

Sylvia was born Nov. 14, 1909, the 11th child of Alfred and Bergetha Catherine Peterson Draper in Moroni, Utah.

She later moved to Nephi, Utah and met and married her sweetheart, George Archie Worthington, on June 11, 1928.

They moved to Salt Lake in 1941 and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in June, 1954.

She worked at Safeway in the 1950's and later worked at the LDS Hospital in the Pharmacy Department.

Sylvia was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings, including Relief Society as a visiting teacher for 42 years.

She was appointed Captain of the Kate B. Carter Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers from 1986 through 1994. Sylvia also served many faithful years as a front line missionary in the Joseph Smith Building and the LDS Church Office Building.

Sylvia's greatest loves were her family, friends and the beauty of nature. She loved life and was very enthused, supportive and proud of her family's accomplishments. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as long drives and picnics in the canyons, evening rides taking in the sights of Christmas lights and baking homemade cookies for her grandchildren.

Sylvia's warm, loving smile, the gentle touch of her hand, and her strength and determination are an inspiration to her five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren who love her dearly.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband and sweetheart; all of her brothers and sisters; and her son-in-law, Lynn R. Swenson. She is survived by her two children, Rex George Worthington and Mrs. Connie Rae Swenson.

Funeral services will be held Friday October 11, 2002, 12:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 S. 1950 E., where also friends may call Thurs. evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services.
