Geneva Hatcher White, 79, of Monterey died Sunday morning, May 7 1989 in the University of Virginia Hospital. She was born Feb. 6. 1910 in Kentuck, W.Va., a daughter of Roscoe and Icy Williams Hatcher. She was a member of the Wesley Chapel Advent Christian Church. She had taught school in West Virginia and she and her husband operated the Headwaters store prior to her retirement. On Dec. 24, 1931, she married Peter Jackson White, who preceded her in death Nov. 23 1986.
Survivors include a daughter, Patsy W. King of Monterey a son, Ronald J. White of Monterey; a sister, Eloise Hopkins of Elkhart, Ind.; two brothers Howard Hatcher of Gallipolis Ohio and Wayne Hatcher of Ripley, W.Va.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A service was conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday in Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Gue, the Rev. C. William Coz and Pastor Chip Hill Burial was in the Monterey Cemetery.
