Mrs. Mary J. Walters, 88, a resident of St. John’s Rest Home, Victoria, died Monday at St. Anthony Hospital.

She formerly lived in Hays.

Surviving are seven sons, Edwin A. El Monte, Calif., William J., Hays, Fidelis A., Bountiful, Utah, Linus A., Ellis, Vincent J., Hays, Clarence J. Tulsa, Okla., Matt J., Oklahoma City, Okla.; five daughters, Mrs. Vera Pfeifer and Mrs. Ted (Alexia) Munk, both of Victoria, Mrs. Walter (Scholastica) Leiker, Gorham, Mrs. Al (Mary Ann) Schulte, Hugoton, Mrs. S. J. (Doris) Applehans, Hays; two brothers, Cosmos Staab, Kimball, Neb., Joe Staab, Topeka; 55 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Her husband, Peter J., one son and three daughters preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A Christian Mothers - Altar Society rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Wednesday. At 8 p.m. Wednesday a parish wake services and Victoria D. of I. rosary will be said. The Hay D. of I. rosary will be at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. All services are at Brock’s North Hill Chapel. Friends may call at the chapel from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday and 1 until 9 p.m. Wednesday.
