Catherine Hall Golemon, age 91, of Peoria, formerly of Texas, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015 at her home. Catherine was born on February 8, 1924 in Nacogdoches, TX to Lynn T. and Patti Lee (Hall) Blake. She married Robert "Bruce" Golemon on April 23, 1943 in Texas and he preceded her in death in 1986. Also preceding her in death are her parents, four siblings; and one daughter, Bobbie Claire Golemon.
Catherine taught first grade and kindergarten for 50 years in Texas. Once she retired and moved to the Peoria area, she volunteered at St. Mary's School in Kickapoo. She was a member of the Texas State Teacher's Association and the Daughters' of the American Revolution. She also was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria. Her great accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her children, Patricia Lynn (Peter Williamson) Golemon of Houston, TX and Thomas Bruce (Joan) Golemon of Brimfield, IL; her grandchildren, Anna Garrett, Allison Skinner, Buck (Alanna) Golemon, Joe, Luke, Austin, Hayden and Katie Golemon; five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Roy Blake of Nacogdoches, TX.
Services were held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 2pm at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria with visitation beginning at noon.
