He was born Sept. 20, 1934 in Lochiel Township, son of the late Russell Renwick and Lillian (nee Mackenzie). He was a tinsmith by trade and he worked at both Canada Starch and Mutual Products, before health problems forced him to retire in 1987.
Mr. Renwick was the former husband of Laura Julien of Cornwall. He is survived by children Bob (Wanda) of Thomasville, North Carolina; Allen (Donna) of Lunenburg; and Christina of Cornwall. Also surviving are brothers and sisters Betty Forward of Winchester, Lois Moran of Winchester and Mary (Burns) McAdam of Iroquois.
He was predeceased by brothers Frederick, Stanley, Glendon and sisters Opal Thorpe, Wilda Foley and an infant sister Joyce.
He is also survived by grandchildren Sara, Kristen, Beth, Carrie and William, as well as by nieces and nephews.
In his earlier years, Mr. Renwick was an avid baseball player and he enjoyed playing hockey and going to horse races. His family will also remember him for the 1969 red Datsun convertible that he restored from nothing in recent years.
There was no visitation. A graveside funeral service was held at Maple Ridge Cemetery, Chesterville on Nov. 14, officiated by Rev. Sandy. Arrangements were entrusted to the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Iroquois.
Donations to Winchester District Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
