He loved to breed and train horses. He had a mare, Midget, that he had schooled, and she knew 21 different tricks with him on or off her back. He showed her at Hawleyville, Sidney Rodeo and other gatherings.
Orville enjoyed dancing and until a few years ago entertained a lot of people by doing the jig that he was famous for. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and making western jewelry.
Orville was a member of Masonic Circle Lodge #555 and the Scottish Rite for a while. He was also a member of the Eastern Star #554 and N.F.O. and a 4-H leader for a while. He and Pauline had neighborhood card parties and never missed a P.T.A. meeting at the country school.
Orville is survived by his wife, Pauline (Polly), of Corning; son, LaRell (Coleen) Wilkinson of Lenox; daughter, Sandy (Daryl) Rechtenbach of Bridgewater; daughter-in-law-, Shirley Wilkinson of Prescott, Iowa; sister-in-law Effie Wilkinson of Corning; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Grace Ellen Wilkinson; brothers, Marion, Harold, Darrell, and infant brother, Arthur; sisters, Faye Tefft and Erma Lawrence; a son, Darwin; infant grandson, LeRoy Rechtenbach; sisters-in-law, Ruth and Maxine Wilkinson; and brothers-in-law, Elmer Tefft and Ernest Lawrence.
