Marie-Louise "Mary" Changau (Chagnon) dit LaRose was born in 1817, her father, Antoine, was 20, and her mother, Marie, was 17. She married Phillip Moses Degree (Degré) in 1838 in Bagot, Quebec, Canada. They had 12 children in 20 years. She died on July 25, 1882, in Round Grove, Minnesota, at the age of 65, and was buried in Stewart, Minnesota.
