Born January 2, 1933 in Rabun County, she was the daughter of the late John Rockaway Mitchell and Elzia McCall Mitchell. She was the widow of Samuel C. Alley. Patsy was a member of the Lakemont Baptist Church for 60 plus years and had ministered to the people in her church through Bible School and other areas of the church, and with her husband in the American Legion and his military associations. She was an avid bird watcher and protector.
She was preceded in death by a brother, J.R. Mitchell and by two sisters, Hilda Hopper and Hazel Kilby. She is survived by a son, Ross Alley, two daughters; Sarah Alley Brewer and Karla Alley, three brothers; Thomas Mitchell, Douglas Mitchell and Lloyd Mitchell, four sisters; Betty Jo Gibby, Blondine Barron, Beverly Mason and Marilyn Ballew. Three grandchildren and one great granddaughter also survive.
