Phillip Areheart died at his home near Sangerville, last Thursday morning aged 80 years, after a long illness due to infirmities of old age fie was a kind, good man, affectionate, husband and father, and enjoyed the confidence and respect of the community where he lived; he was given to hospitality and there are few homes where it was more generously dispensed. His death has cast a gloom over this community and will be deeply mourned by a large circle of friends. He leaves a wife and four daughters, and two sous, J. D. and William Areheart, and has a number of relatives in this and Rockingham county. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. J. C. Hawk, at Emanuel church, on Friday when the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the presence of a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives.
