Margaret Nylene Estes, age 83, of Berry, Alabama, died Saturday 13 Sep 2014. A memorial service was held at 11:00 am on 15 Sep 2015 at Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel. She lived much of her life as a resident of both Kennedy and Reform, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlen and Lillian Mozelle Hydrick Estes, son, Frankie Brewer and siblings, Howard, Glenn, Lillian and Jimmy Estes.
Nylene Estes was only 62 when the stroke hit. From the hospital, the doctors warned the family she might not make it through the night. They were to try their best to stop the bleeding in her brain. Turns out, God had already tended to that. In surgery,, they discovered the aneurism had dried up. That was some 21 years ago. Margaret Nylene Estes, by her maiden name, passed away Saturday morning 13 Sep 2014. She was 83, her whole life marked by a come-back attitude and an unbreakable spirit. The stroke had robbed her of her gift of speech and left her with only a few words and phrases. Her last days, she must have said, "I love you" a million times, not only to her family and friends, but to nurses and caregivers she'd never met. Nylene's passing leaves an empty echo in the heart of everyone who knew her.
Nylene's children are: Sonny Brewer, Sandra Brewer, Frankie Brewer and Missy Hildreth Gilliam. Her step-children are: Jimmy Hildreth, Butch Hildreth, Kay Hildreth, Wayne Hildreth, John Hildreth, David Hildreth, and Richard Hildreth: also, Paul Drake. Nylene has 26 grandchildren. She was married to Casey Brewer, JC Hildreth, and John Drake. Nylene's brothers and sisters are: Howard Estes, Carl Estes, Glenn Estes, Lillian Estes, Jimmy Estes and Terry Estes.
