ERNEST GLENWOOD CALKINS
After a short illness the death occurred at the family residence north of Gleichen on Saturday evening of Ernest Glenwood Calkins, the cause being given as myocarditis, following acute indigestion. The deceased was a superintendent on irrigation projects in Colorado prior to coming to the Gleichen district in 1911, and came here to take a position with the C.P.R. as watermaster in the district in which he passed away. He also farmed quite extensively in the irrigated district and was well known throughout that part of the country. He leaves his wife, Nora, one daughter, Mrs. Celia M. McClusky, and one son, Orval, all of whom reside on the home place.
The remains were removed to the Armstrong Funeral Home, where the funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of the Veteran Oddfellows, of which the deceased was a member. The remains will be laid to rest in Burnsland cemetery.
