Carl Henry Reasner, 75, of 79 W. Main St., died Sunday, May 13, 2007, at ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg, Pa.

Born July 13, 1931, in Fayetteville, he was the son of the late Ralph and Bertha McClure Reasner.

He was last employed by T.B. Woods Sons Inc., retiring in 1991.

He served with the U.S. Army in Korea during the Korean War.

He was the oldest living member of Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Co., which he joined in 1953, and served as an ambulance driver for many years. He was a member of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, Hume-McNeil-Byers AMVETS Post 224 and Chambersburg Club.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Catherine Poper Reasner; two children, Carl G. Reasner of Greencastle, Pa., and Carla R. Gabler of Fayetteville; four sisters, Dorothy Reasner of Fayetteville, Faye Staley of Gettysburg, Pa., Geraldine Horn of Fayetteville and Sarah Reese of Oakville, Pa.; three brothers, Ralph Reasner of Bakersfield, Calif., Dick Reasner of Fayetteville and Glen Reasner of Chambersburg; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers.

Services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. The Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Following the service, he will be transported via Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Co. Engine 7-1 for burial in Covenanter Cemetery, Fayetteville, where military honors will be conducted by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
