Harry Cordes is the son of Henry and Catherine [unknown maiden name] Cordes.

He emigrated from Germany in about 1892. Soon after arriving he opened a candy shop in Brooklyn on 5th Ave.

He married Katherine Viohl in about 1898. The couple had two children:

Harry A Cordes - 1899-1968
Anna Cordes - b. April 1900

Harry's cause of death was acute nephritis.

Soon after his death, his widowed wife married Frederick William Mahland. By 1920, her two children with Harry changed their surnames to Mahland.
