SHERMAN A. BOWSHER, MONTICELLO, DIES; SERVICES THURSDAY

MONTICELLO--Final rites for Sherman A. Bowsher, 87, of 210 N. Railroad, will be at 1:30 Thursday at the Monticello Christian church, of which he was a member. The Rev. Paul Kitley will officiate and burial will be in Riverview cemetery.

Friends may call at the Miller funeral home after noon today and at the church one hour before services.

His death occurred at 11 p.m. Monday in St. Elizabeth's hospital, Lafayette, after a months illness.

Born in White county Dec. 16, 1874, he was the son of Benjamin and Nancy Hockenberry Bowsher. His marriage on Jan. 10, 1896, was to Clara Hemphill.

He was a retired farmer.

Survivors are his wife, two sons, and three daughters: Mack and Benjamin H., both of this city; Mrs. Everett Turner, city; Mrs. Ward Cossman, Brownstown, Ind.; Mrs. Ruth Julian, Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. Ella Ballard, Gary; two half-brothers, Bert Bowsher, of here; Ben Bowsher, Burnettsville; three half-sisters, Mrs. Amos Carter, Sr., Mrs. Luther Schnepp, and Mrs. Ida Nicewander, all of this city; two step-sisters, Mrs. Amanda Andrews and Mrs. Rose Guss, both of this city.
