During the past eleven months in her mothers illness, her services were limited only by her physical powers of endurance and in addition to the responsibility of the care of her mother, she was always charitable and always had time for her church and friends. She bore her own afflictions bravely until after her mother's death and burial, taking to her bed the same evening, and sick but a few days, passed away without the knowledge of her father's death on the previous day. On Wednesday morning she went to
sleep and awakened in heaven. She found her keenest delight and pleasure in things connected with her home fireside, always willing to undergo privations that others might have pleasure. Her memory will be cherished not only by her own household, but by her many friends. She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. C. W. Green, Romola, and Mabel, two sisters and three brothers.
A double funeral service was held at the G. H. Chisman home, Sunday March 21, conducted by Rev. Alvah
Huff. The beautiful floral offering expressed the esteem in which the deceased were held. A quartet from Plymouth Congregational church, Ottumwa furnished the music. Interment was made in the Chisman cemetery.
