BOONEVILLE Jerry Lee “Gerald” Carpenter, 64, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Prentiss County, he was born April 12, 1934, in Booneville to Colus Younger Carpenter and Marquerite Gentry Carpenter. He was a retired car dealer and a Baptist. He enjoyed collecting knives.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Memorial Garden.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra Spencer and her husband, Gary, of Okolona, and Patricia Morgan and her husband, Roger, of Booneville; four sons, Gerald Carpenter, and Jerry Ralph Carpenter and his wife, Mitzi, all of Booneville, and Ricky Lee Carpenter and Ronald L. Carpenter, both of Rienzi; two brothers, Carmon Carpenter and his wife, Emogene, of Booneville, and Wade Carpenter and his wife, Rita, of Tupelo; a sister, Barbara Bailey and her husband, Charles, of Zion, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Randy Carpenter, Reggie Robinson, Troy Martin, Keith Mansell, Michael Whitley and Tommy Holder.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 9865, Jackson, Miss. 39286.
Visitation will continue until service time today at the funeral home.
