She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for OB GYN Associates of Lancaster. In 1939, Catherine was the Alternate Miss Lancaster City. She was a volunteer at the Homestead Village Health Center Gift Shop and also volunteered at Luther Acres. In later years, she was a hostess at Rockford Plantation. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Catherine enjoyed trips to the Chesapeake Bay with her family and raising flowers, especially African Violets.
Surviving are 2 sons: Raymond E. Martin, Jr., husband of Susan, of Venice, FL and David M. Martin, husband of Annette, of Lancaster, PA; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Catherine is preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Allisha Ann Kissinger; a great-grandson, Joshua Ray Kissinger; 4 brothers and a sister.
A viewing will take place from 10:30-11:30 AM on Monday, September 8, 2014 with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:30 AM at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
