Rosie Duncan Hawkins, age 66 of Detroit, AL passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Funeral service will be held Friday, September 5, 2014 at 3:00 pm from Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Stanford Cemetery. Bro. Jeff Scott will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6-8 pm.
Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and great nephews.
Ms. Hawkins was born February 5, 1948 in Lamar County, AL to the late David Andrew Sr. and Nedra May Cummings Duncan. She spent most of her life working as a seamstress at McCoy Manufacturing, Detroit Slacks and Reltoc Manufacturing Co. She found enjoyment in spending time with her friends and family. Ms. Hawkins was a member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church.
