Mrs. Ethel N. Alderson, age 92, of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday October 18, 2016 from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at True Vine Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church with services to follow at 12 noon at the Church with Rev. Donald Coney, eulogist.

The body will Lie-in-State Monday from 12 noon until 6 p. m. at V. K. Ryan & Son Funeral Home. Interment is in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. V. K. Ryan & Son Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late John E. Thomas and Hattie S. Thomas. She received her education in the Maury County school system, graduating from College Hill High School. She was a faithful member of True Vine

Missionary Baptist Church where she was chairperson of the Kitchen Ministry. She was a member of the Monday Night Mixed League Bowling Team, a member of the Eastern Star Arista Chapter No. 9 and the White Dove Assembly 185, Shelbyville, TN.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Hattie S. Alderson, and Jennie L. Armstrong, (Pee Wee) and nephews, John A. Smith and Keith D. Jones.

Those left to cherish her memory are a loving husband, Charles J. Alderson; daughter, Patricia (Barry) Walton of Philadelphia, PA.; son, Terry (Theresa) Nevette; grandchildren, Trinton D. Nevette (Shavette) and Tina L. Nevette; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eloise Johnson of Chicago, and Henrietta (Douglas) Jones; sister-in-law, Ora M. (Sam) Yokley; brothers-in-law, James A. Alderson, Wilson Armstrong, Jr. of Chicago, James E. Margaret Alderson of Shawnee, OK., Joe T. (Linda) Alderson of Los Vegas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
