Mr. Ballentine was born in Ballentine, SC, a son of the late George Milford Ballentine and Eula Mae Amick Ballentine. As a member of “Our Greatest Generation”, he was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. He retired from Socar as an accountant. Mr. Ballentine loved working in the yard, sports, hunting and fishing and all things Gamecock.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-seven years, Mary Hutchinson Ballentine; his sisters, Vera Dukes of Aiken and Lauretta O’Keeffe of Matthews and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
