Born May 19, 1956, he was the son of the late Archie Asper Cohick and Carrie (Burkholder) Cohick. Raised in Newville, he graduated from Big Spring High School in 1974, where he was senior class vice president, ran cross country and was a talented wrestler. He then continued his wrestling career while attending Penn State Mont Alto, graduating in 1978. He worked many years at the Kinney Shoe Corporation in Carlisle and also at The Beistle Company in Shippensburg. He worked various other jobs in his later years.
Surviving Dale are his former wife, Julie (Runshaw) Cohick, two daughters, Jennifer Cohick and Chelsy (Cohick) McCrea, son, Tanner Cohick and two grandsons, Evan and Lucas McCrea, all of Carlisle. Also surviving, are two sisters, Dianne Holtry of Mifflintown, PA and Linda Amtsfield of Mantua, NJ, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Alan Cohick. The family will be holding their own small, private memorial service.
