This is a memorial for Ashley since her daddy would not allow her to be buried in her Johnson family cemetery here at Shaw's Creek Methodist Episcopal Campground Church. Ashley's 6th great grandfather, James Johnson, who fought for our freedom in the Revolutionary War, donated the land here for the church and cemetery. Ashley has three sets of her maternal grandparents buried here. Her maternal grandparents also plan to be buried here. Ashley helped her maternal grandparents clean the old church here every year preparing for the reunion. Ashley also helped her maternal grandmother sell prints of the church to raise funds for remarking their ancestors graves.
Ashley was a member of the DAR, CD17th Century, and Save the Light, Inc. She had volunteered at Save the Light many hours by scanning in all their documents and saving them on CDs.
Ashley loved to sing and play the piano. She could read the music or play by ear. She loved Colonial Williamsburg and visited there several times with her maternal grandparents. She was captain of her volleyball team while attending Riverside High School. She was presently attending Greenville Tech to become a Dr. of Psychology.
Her sweet spirit and beautiful smile will be forever missed. Ashley now has her wings and has joined all the other angels in Heaven, singing praises to God.
