Some records suggest that her first name is Sarah and that "Sally" was her nickname. But all the formal records always referred to her as simply Sally.

Sally had two illegitimate children by an unknown partner(s); Phoebe born about 1841 and Daniel born about 1843. Their sir names at birth were Bish. Daniel was killed in the Civil War.

When her father Peter, a farmer, died in 1842 Sally was willed a 115 acre farm on a branch that empties into Walkers Creek and 50 acres which adjoined.

On 15 Jul 1848 in Giles Co., Virginia Sally married the farmer Elijah "Lige" Moye (b.Abt1799, d.1864). It was his second marriage as his first wife had passed and left several offspring in his care.

Per the census of 1860 the family lived in Staffordsville, Giles Co., Virginia. After Sally died in 1862 her husband Lige relocated the family to North Carolina. There he married for a third time.

Elijah; returning to NC from a trip to Gile Co., VA where he sold Sally's old farmstead "Lige" was robbed and killed.
