Jean Ann Black, a resident of Yukon, OK since 1980, graduated to her heavenly home on August 16, 2014. She was born Nov. 5, 1930 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to parents Elmer and Willie Kahre.

Jean was a woman of many talents and she excelled at everything she pursued. As one of the graduates of OU’s first class of Paralegals, she had a distinguished career of 31 years with Wheatley & Stout law firm in Yukon. As counselor and friend to any who had need, she led many to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, including her brother, Norman.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Rev. Bill Greene (former Pastor of First Christian Church in Yukon), husband Emmitt Black, special friend Martin Maca and her only child Martha Sullivan. She is survived by her sister, Kay Mayberry, of St. Louis, her brother, Norman Kahre (Jacque) of Oklahoma City and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as their descendants.

Above all else, Jean cherished her family. Her love for them was demonstrated in words and deeds that will never be forgotten.

Services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday August 21, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, 1500 W. Vandament, Yukon, OK, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery.
