Reidun Marie Lund Bithell was born on July 5, 1908 to Amanda Baete Hansen and Lauritz Olsen Larsen Lund in Aalesund, Norway. She left Norway in 1913 at the age of five as an immigrant to the United States following her conversion to the LDS church.

Her family settled in Salt Lake City where she married Charles Kidgell Bithell on July 26, 1930.

Marie was fortunate to have a large loving family, which includes seven children, Betty (C. J.) Hawkes, Charles Kay (Marian), Dale, Wayne (Diane), Dean, Lynn (Judy), Bithell, and Linda (Dennis) Caudill.

She was grandma and "grandma great" to 24 grandchildren, 50 great- grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Charles. Marie struggled with Alzheimer's for the final years of her life. We are all happy that she is now free from those bonds.

Services will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery/Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 S., Sandy, Utah, Monday Oct. 7, 2002. Viewing at 1:00 p.m. and Funeral Services beginning at 2:00 p.m.
