Shawnee resident Richard Bourbonnais, 78, died Monday, Feb. 13, at his home.
He was born May 8, 1927 in Econtuchka to Bob and Naomi Bourbonnais.

Bourbonnais started attending school in Dale and graduated in Maud. He also attended East Central State College.

On June 18, 1949, he married Lorene Gibson in Shawnee.

He was a home-builder. He attended Liberty Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, a greeter and worked in the cafeteria as a volunteer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Linda Bourbonnais and Larry and Debbie Bourbonnais, all of Shawnee; three grandchildren, Jason Bourbonnais, Melissa Bourbonnais and David Bourbonnais II, all of Shawnee; one brother, Roy Bourbonnais of Tecumseh; and one sister, Maggie Snider of Midwest City.

Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Liberty Baptist Church with Bill Matthews and Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
