Clarence, known as "Kelly" by everyone, was a farmer and a carpenter. In later years he lived on the old Sherman homestead in Fairview Township-- he survived three tornados in that house. He retired to refinish antique furniture, much of it from the Sherman house. He had plenty of space in the barns and other buildings to do this work which he enjoyed very much.

"CLARENCE (KELLY) SHERMAN
"FAIRVIEW- Clarence (Kelly) Sherman, 83, of Fairview, died Sunday at 3:15 p.m. at his home.

"He was born Feb. 3, 1895 in Middlegrove. He married M. Mabel Simpson (sic) February 3, 1915 in Fairview. She died in January 1972.

"Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Nelda) Abbadusky of Fairview Route 1 and Mrs. Herbert (Elizabeth) Harker of Medford, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Clana Florea of Canton; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

"He was a retired farmer and a refinisher of antique furniture.

"Funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Root Funeral Home here, where friends may call tonight after 6. Burial will be in Foster Cemetery east of Fairview."
