Mr. Alva Lee Adams, Sr., 71, of Hamburg, who was born September 25, 1932 in Jones, LA, died Tuesday, March 09, 2004, at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. A resident of Hamburg and the Martinville community outside of Hamburg for most of his life, he was a retired automobile mechanic and attended the Martinville Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by one son, Linsley Lee Adams in 1999; his parents, Louis and Estelle Moore Adams; one brother, Louis Edward Adams and one sister, Mary Frances Kelley.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Opal Jones Adams of Hamburg; three sons, Alva Lee Adams Jr. of Monticello, Jackie Adams of Cedarcreek, MO, and Robert Louis Adams of Hamburg; one daughter, Judy Adams of Hamburg; one brother, Harold Adams of Monticello; two sisters, Shirley Savage of Little Rock and Sue Kent of Texas; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Grave-side services and interment were at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 11, in the Hamburg Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Wood officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
