Anne was involved in the famous love triangle with Laura Foster and Tom (Dula) Dooley.Laura Foster was found in a shallow grave murdered and Tom Dooley and Anne Foster Melton were arrested.Anne would spent 2 years in jail till her murder trial in which she was acquitted. Tom Dooley was hung for Laura's death on May 1 1868. Anne spent the rest of her years living on a farm with her husband James G. Melton. she died of wounds from a horse drawn cart accident. Many people thought that Anne was the actual killer as some say she was jealous of Laura and Tom covered for her.
