He was born as Paschal Belanger. On Aug 22, 1866 he married Sophie Fecteau. At some point they moved from Quebec to Vermont and they both changed their names from the french to english and he used Peter Baker and she used Sophie Foster.

The last few years of his life, he returned to Canada and lived in the parish of Norte-Dame-de-la-Victoire in the town of Levis, Quebec and went back to Paschal Belanger.
