Survived by his wife; a son (names not stated) of Cincinnati, Ohio; several brothers: Rev. Levi P. Pitner of Evanston, W. C. Pitner of Decatur, and Dr. F. R. Pitner of Clay City, IL; and one sister, Mrs. John M. Thompson (Harriet) of Virginia. One nephew was mentioned, Dr. T. J. Pitner of Jacksonville.
Funeral held at the residence on Pine Street.
Burial beside his brother Montgomery Pitner in Jacksonville Cemetery.
