Mrs. Fowler was born to the union of Oscar Lee Antley and Charity Manerva Parks, who married in Winn Parish on March 27, 1904. She was a homemaker and a member of Temple Baptist Church of Winnsboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elzie P. Fowler; her parents; four brothers, Hubert Jefferson Antley, Henry Rosenfield "Jack" Antley, David Oscar Antley, and Eugene Antley; and one sister, Mary Emma Mitcham.

She was survived by one daughter, Lea Avis Rollins and husband J. D. of Buckner, AR; two sons, Elzie Fowler, Jr. and wife Virgie of Winnsboro, and Ralph Fowler, Sr. of Gilbert; two sisters, Lela Mae Norman of Winnsboro and O. L. Harrison of Baker; three step-sisters, Evie Johns, Jessie Mae Cruse, and Sarah Erskine, all of Winnsboro; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
