Wayland Rochelle, 57, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center in Wilmington. Mr. Rochelle was preceded in death by his parents, James Council Rochelle and Reba Helen Ottaway Rochelle. He is survived by his wife, Julia McClain Rochelle of the home; one daughter, Theresa Woollard and her husband, Jerrod of Jacksonville; two sons, Joshua Rochelle and Jason Rochelle, both of the home; sister, Barbara Jones of Jacksonville; brother, Edward Rochelle of Jacksonville; brother, Wesley Rochelle of Jacksonville; sister, Catherine McClain of Jacksonville; sister, Darlene Yopp of Sneads Ferry; and three grandchildren, Victoria, Elizabeth and Alivia. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Rex Ware officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.
