Thelma M. Clinton "Tee" Dycus, 76, of Hamilton
Thelma M. Clinton "Tee" Dycus passed away on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at 3:45 a.m. at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born Dec. 12, 1934, in Sesser, a daughter of Carl and Rosilee Moss Clinton. Thelma married Bobbie P. Dycus on September 19, 1953 in Mt. Vernon. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2003. Survivors include three daughters, Susie and (Ronald) Schulz, of Carthage, Carol Dycus , of Hamilton and Mary Jane Dycus, of Hamilton; two sons, Edward Dycus , of Carthage and Larry Dycus , of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Joshua Schulz, of LaGrange, Mo., Jeremy Schulz, of Carthage and Jennifer (Cory) Clostermery, of Burnside; three great grandchildren, Caitlin, Jacob and Cara Colstermery; three brothers, Tommy Clinton, of Woodlawn and Melvin Clinton and James Clinton, both of Ina; two sisters, Betty Baltzel, of Ewing and Roberta England, of Lewistown; many nieces, nephews and cousins and her dog, "Little Bit." She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Katherine "A.J." Dycus and a sister Geneva Clinton. Thelma graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in Mt. Vernon. She was a member of the Women's VFW Auxiliary, the First Baptist Church of Hamilton. Thelma was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, crafts, gardening and canning. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, after 2 p.m. with the family meeting friends between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Lamporte-St.Clair Funeral Home of Hamilton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Lamporte-St.Clair Funeral Home of Hamilton with Pastor Adam Dichen officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. Memorials have been established in the memory of Thelma Dycus. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lamportefuneralhomes.com. Lamporte-St.Clair Funeral Home of Nauvoo is in charge of arrangements.
