BERT W. EVANS DIES FBOM ACUTE INDIGESTION
Bert W. Evans, of 1321 Washburn street, a widely known West Scranton resident died suddenly last evening, shortly before 10 o'clock from acute indigestion. The news of Mr. Evan's death comes as a severe shock to his many friends. He was in the central city early last evening and expired shortly after returning home. Mr. Evans, who was about forty four years of age, was an assistant superintendent in the traffic department of the International Correspondence Schools and had held that position for some time. Surviving the deceased are his mother, Mrs. Ebenezer Evans, of South Sumner avenue; his widow and three children, William Evans, Mrs. Harry Lloyd and Miss Margaret Evans, all of this city; three brothers, William, Gordon and Stanley, and two sisters, Mrs. Bert Banders, of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Miss Lillian Evans, of this city. No funeral arrangements have been made as yet.

FUENRAL OF B. W. EVANS HELD FROM LATE HOME
The funeral of Bert W. Evans, of 1321 Washburn street, who died suddenly Tuesday evening, was held from the late home Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and was attended by a large throng of sorrowing relatives and friends from all sections of the city and other cities. There were many beautiful floral offerings, which attested the esteem in which the deceased was held. Rev. R. J. Williams, pastor of the Ebenezer Welsh Presbyterian Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. T. Telfon Richards, D. D., pastor of the First Welsh Baptist Church. A quartet composed of David Jenkins, John T. Jones, John Evans and Harry Madden rendered several musical numbers. The deceased was one of the most highly respected, young men of West Scranton and was greatly admired for his sterling qualities. He had been a resident of this section during the greater part of his life and a faithful member of the Ebenezer Church, being a trustee in this church. Mr. Evans was an employee of the International Correspondence Schools, serving in the capacity of assistant traffic manager for the past twenty-six years. At the conclusion of the services at the home. Interment was in the Washburn Street Cemetery. The pallbearers were: D. W., Davies, Edgar Howell, William Phillips, Wendell Evans, John Samuels, and John Ritchard of Johnson City, Tenn. Flowers were carried by Dan. Edwards, William James, Joseph Moser, . P. M. Davis, Isaac Davis, Austin Jones, Rhys Powell and Sterling Parker.
