James Ambrose Cobb, 79, of Corbin, Whitley Co., KY, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Knox County Hospital, Barbourville, Knox Co., KY. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Corbin, Whitley Co., KY, and served as Deacon Emeritus. He was a veteran of the United Army and was retired from CSX Railroad.
He was born April 15, 1935, in Keavy, Laurel Co., KY, he was the son of Andrew Jackson Leander Cobb and Maude Belle Gilbert Cobb. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings: Eliza Mahala Cobb Johnson, Maggie Ellen Cobb Thomas, David Russell Cobb, Willie Gladden "Bill" Cobb, Rosetta Cobb Bowers, and John S Cobb.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years: Fredina S Webb Cobb; his two daughters: Rebecca Susan "Beckie" Cobb Broerman and her husband Eric Broerman; and Jennifer Denise Cobb Steely and her husband Dan Steely; his two grandchildren: Jackson Steely and Grace Steely; and his sister: Nancy Jeanette Cobb Pennington.
