Florence I Meharg, 78, died April 24 at Hoisington Lutheran Hospital. Born Florence Ross on April 10 1910 in Russell County, she had been a resident of Hoisington for 38 years having moved from Russell County. She married Ray R Meharg on July 9 1925 in Russell County. He died Oct 18 1978. She was a homemaker. Mrs Meharg was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Garden Club and Heritage Club, all of Hoisington. Survivors include three sons: Walter L of Hoisington; Gene E of Enid OK; and Glen R of Borger TX; three brothers, Leo Ross of Russell; Lee Ross of Luray, and Floyd Ross of Longmont CO; three sisters; Ethel Bechtel of Russell; Viola Besthorn of Holyrood, and Clara Mae McCabe of Olathe; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral will be at 1:30 pm Wednesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington with the Rev Don Koehn officiating. Burial will be at Cross Plains Cemetery in Russell County. Friends may call until 9 tonight and from 9am until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the church.
